1May04: EU extends it's border south-east to include 25 european member countries & some 450 million people. Also this day is the field day for the workers in many european countries & with the current nice spring weather it's bound to be a blast!

30Apr04: Warnings of expansion & further violence & killings in the south of Thailand including popular tourist areas of Phuket, Krabi & Samui. The other day more than 120 killed in a battle between the army & muslim revellers, but the whole thing mostly have been internal & apart from a few malysians at the explosion in a had yai pub no foreigners have been hurt, but that may be about to change...

25Apr04: Major train collision & explosion with some 150 dead in North Korea near the border to China. Perhaps this would lead to a bit more openness toward the international community...

20Nov03: Latest terror act at Istanbul was 2 suicide bomb blasts killing some 27 & wounding 400! Meanwhile demonstrations against George Bush & his visit in London...

7Nov03: Loy Krathong celebrated in Thailand while Wimbledon had a minor event 2Nov :-)

12Jul03: LoveParade Berlin 14th edition. Huge free street party/demonstration attended by 2 millions of love, peace & harmony seeking techno music fans from all walks. Has become a global party lately :-)

30Apr03: Due to SARS, war, terror, slow economy, etc now is as good as it gets for bargain travel deals. ThaiAir even 'sold' free flights from London-Bangkok, but that turned out as another of those deals that was too good to be true!

8.Apr.03: In thailand the SARS outbreak has caused some 50% decrease in Asian visitors reported in Bangkok Post, while the war in Iraq seem to be going strong!

9.feb.03: The lunar chinese new year was celebrated in China obviously as well as major china towns around the world last weekend. Next major global celebration must be the carnival coming up in a couple of weeks...

19.dec.02: WFG has now been around for more than a year & is finally gaining a bit of momentom! Currently listing essential nightlife facts for most asian & european destinations. Only americas lacking way behind. Traffic was more than 900 unique visitors this month & more than 2300 in total has clicked by! Upcoming is the festive season & all the sanuk that goes with it. Also finally the euro currently stands solidly stronger than the good old US$, so indeed we're looking to exciting times... May the new year be at least as exciting as 2002. Cheers!

24.oct.02: Last few weeks has seen the following incidents around the world: Bali blast killing & wounding more than 300 people mostly young tourists, suicide bomber kills few in Helsinki shopping center, bomb on bus in Manila kills around 7 locals?, Washington sniper shot more than 10 'ordinary' people! Around 700 people in Moscow theater captured by violent rebels & situation still unsettled??? Phuket is announced next terrorist soft target aimed at westerners gathering venues...
What's the world coming to? Will travelling ever be the same again??? I'm sure it will :-)

13.oct.02: Saddest day in Bali & SEA tourism as cruel bomb eksplosions outside Sari club & Paddies pub, jl. legian  kuta, Bali, Indonesia murdering more than 180 people! Take care...

30.jun.2002: Finally more info added! Especially in the european section... WFG Delphi forum are for the time being unmoderated as I'm to cheap to pay up for that! anyways forum should be able to continue as such, but I might eventually pay up or create another?

4.jun.2002: Unrest various places on earth is the order of the day, but the current confrontation between india & pakistan is indeed scary! hell it may be rather peacefull compared to daily life around israel, but even terror & stuff can't compare to an eventuel nuclear war facing well above 1bill. citizens... other than that most planned portal sections has finally almost been completed & given some content. feel free to (re)explore... ;-)

13.apr.2002: Water festival or songkran in thailand is an remarkable event not to be missed. the thai mobile market has been liberalised which enables foreign handsets to work with local SIM's. extensive thai info added to the portal!

2.mar.2002: Winter carneval season is long gone in latin america/caribia as well as elsewhere, but the cold weather still continues in the cold north! Perhaps just until the spring carneval around may? Some new pages has finally been added to the portal now & some more country info will be filled in as well very soon...

20.jan.2002: Thailand trip info added in the forum. Pirated software, music etc is next in the Thai crackdown, while another flashy new agogo opens in soi cowboy, bangkok - the dollhouse!!!

23.nov.2001: Indonesia/Jakarta/nightlife info pages added. New liberal prime minister in Denmark. Uncertainty about major crackdowns on nightlife in cambodia?

11.nov.2001: Cambodia in the Asian section is the 1st country listing along with the links section & the forum. Afghanistan is still being bombed & hence considered an UNSAFE travel destination along with North Korea! Generel election on 20.nov in Denmark, but it's VERY unlikely to turn it into an unsafe place to visit... Crackdown in Thailand on the naughty nighlife among other things is still ongoing & rumour has it that Clinton Plaza will soon be shut down?

4.nov.2001: World Fun Guide portal & WorldFunGuide Delphi Forum launched! The portal contained the basic layout, but not much info yet, while the forum quickly got curious visitors from the related travel forums, but not much posting yet...
